Proposed Merger with Charlotte Metro Federal Credit Union

We are thrilled to announce an exciting and unique partnership experience.

After a thorough and comprehensive review process, your Board of Directors and Management Team believe that a merger with Charlotte Metro FCU will create a stronger, more expansive credit union that will enable us to better serve you. Enhanced technology offerings, expanded products and services, additional branch locations, a larger ATM network, and improved efficiencies are only a few of the benefits this partnership will provide.

As the President/CEO of Premier FCU, my priorities align with what is best for both our members and our employees. I believe this proposed merger will be a partnership built on a shared commitment of providing financially-empowering solutions for members, delivering a positive impact on the communities we serve, and continuing to offer an excellent workplace environment.

In the spirit of collaboration and progress, both credit unions have agreed to operate under a brand-new name once the conversion of records is complete in August 2021. The new name will be revealed within the next few months.

Charlotte Metro was chartered in 1962 to serve the Charlotte City employees. Currently serving over 63,000 members, Charlotte Metro FCU’s core values and dedication to providing unparalleled, personalized service aligns perfectly with the Premier philosophy. If approved by the membership, Premier FCU members will have access to an expanded range of services, including:

 First mortgage loans

 Enhanced online and mobile services

Expanded Commercial account and loan product and service offerings

Instantly issued debit and credit cards

 24 Hour Contact Center

Additional branch and ATM locations in Charlotte, Huntersville, Matthews, and Belmont, NC (Harrisburg, NC coming late 2021) as well as Rock Hill, SC

Your Board of Directors and Management Team wholeheartedly believe in this partnership. With 117 combined years of experience, the financial strength of both organizations and shared vision will create an even stronger organization, ensuring we are able to make a greater impact on the lives of those we serve. As a member/owner, you have a say, and our hope is that you will vote in favor of this proposed merger with Charlotte Metro FCU.
