Our Story
Premier Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1963, Cone Federal Credit Union, after our core sponsor company, Cone Mills Corporation.
In 1989, we changed our name to Premier Federal Credit Union, so that we could expand our membership base and offer our services to other companies. Since our organization, Premier Federal Credit Union has grown to over $100 million in assets with a membership of over 25,000. We are proud to serve 375+ companies in North and South Carolina. In recent years, Premier FCU was chosen, out of all participating credit unions in our asset category, to receive:

This award is presented each year by the North Carolina Credit Union League to recognize credit unions that, through community involvement, staff-volunteer work, fund raising efforts, etc., show outstanding, continued commitment to the philosophy of “people helping people”.
