5% Loan Interest Rebate Is Back!

For the seventh consecutive year, members of Premier Federal Credit Union received 5% of the interest paid in 2016 on eligible loans. More than 9,400 members received a portion of the $260,710 given back through a deposit to their savings account. Over the past seven years, $1,750,723 has been returned to members in the form of an annual interest rebate.
“Being a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we are committed to enhancing the benefits of being a member-owner.” stated Lori Thompson, President and CEO. “Our philosophy is that of “People Helping People” and we are proud to have helped so many of our members save money and get the things they need through our lending products.” The decision to give the interest rebate was made by the Board of Directors at the meeting held in November with the announcement being made to the membership in the winter newsletter. “The response from our members over the years has been very positive.” said Thompson, “We are grateful for the opportunity to serve them and the annual interest rebate is our way of saying thank you!” said Thompson.

Road Repairs At The Greensboro Branch on Mon., Sept. 12th & Tues. Sept. 13th

No one likes delays and neither do we! So we wanted to let you know about some road repairs taking place on Monday, September 12th and Tuesday, September 13th at our Greensboro Branch.
The City of Greensboro will be replacing the roadway outside our entrance. During this time, only one side of our driveway will be accessible and could cause some minor delays either coming into or out of the parking lot. Be sure to give yourself a few extra minutes if you are in the area and need to stop by for a visit. We apologize for any inconvenience or delay you may experience.

For the sixth consecutive year, members of Premier Federal Credit Union received 5% of the interest paid in 2015 on eligible loans*. More than 9,400 members received a portion of the $272,000 given back through a deposit to their savings account. Over the past six years, more than $1,490,000 has been returned to members in the form of an annual interest rebate.

New Online Banking Enhancements Now Available!

Recently we have introduced our Online Banking enhancements to make it even easier for you to manage your money no matter where you are! Here are a few details about the new enhancements:
New Online Bill Pay
Online Bill Pay is the fast and easy way to pay your bills. With our new Online Bill Pay, you'll have access to the following features:
- Search for vendors. Add new vendors simply by typing in the company name. If a match is found in the database, the vendor's information will be added automatically. No more hunting down mailing addresses! Simply enter your account number and add your bills to be paid.
- Set up reminders. Never make a late payment again! When you set up reminders, you'll receive a message telling you when your payment is due.
- Pay from multiple checking accounts. Choose which checking account to pay your bills from.
- Make recurring payments. Eliminate the hassle of paying your monthly bills by setting up recurring payments. This is a great option for payments that don't change from month to month - such as your car payment or mortgage.
- See it all at a glance! The Payment Center lets you make payments and view pending payments, recent payments, and bill reminders all on the same screen.

Fraud Alert: Debit Card Reactivation Notice

We have received reports of an outgoing call and text messages notifying members that their debit card has been deactivated or compromised. The message provides a phone number that instructs you to press 1 to reactivate it. This is an attempt to steal your personal information. Please be aware and do not respond to such requests.

Scammers Targeting Target Shoppers

Unfortunately, scammers follow the news, too. Scam artists may send out phony “Target” emails pretending to help, but they actually want to trick you into giving them your personal information. And they are skilled at making the emails look real. If you get an email that says it’s from Target, here’s what to look out for to make sure you don’t get scammed.
*If any email asks for your personal or financial information, it’s most likely a scam. Say the email asks for your credit card number to check whether your card was compromised by the breach. What do you do? Don’t reply. No legitimate business will ask for your personal information through unsecure methods like email.
*If there are links in the email, don’t click on them, even if they seem legit at first glance. Scammers can easily create links and sites that look like the real deal, but can install viruses to your device or direct you to spoof sites that exist to steal your information. Hovering over a link can reveal a deliberately misspelled web address, or a completely different destination. Your best bet is to type the URL directly into your browser.
During the holidays, scammers may send emails promising a free gift card, a new tablet or computer, or even a seasonal job in exchange for your financial information. Even though these offers may sound tempting, delete the message and keep your information to yourself.
If you think you’ve received a fake email, forward it to firstname.lastname@example.org, and delete the message from your inbox. To learn more, read the article on how to deal with phishing scams.

In October, you will receive a new Premier Federal Credit Union Visa Credit Card. This new card will replace your existing card, regardless of the expiration date. If you are the primary cardholder, your card number will remain the same. For security reasons, each additional user on an account will receive a new card with a unique card number.

Our New Mobile App is Now Live!

Our new App is now available at most App stores! If you are already signed up for Mobile Money, simply search for Premier Federal Credit Union at the App Store and begin using our new app today!
If you are not enrolled in Mobile Banking, you must sign up in order to use the app to access your account. To sign up, click the Access My Account link at the top of our website and log into Premier Online. Then under the Self Service tab, click Mobile Money and follow the on screen directions to enroll.
If you are not already a Premier Online member, click the Access My Account link at the top of our web site and follow the on screen instructions to sign up for Online Access prior to enrolling in Mobile Money. If you have any questions or need additional assistance, give us a call at 800.873.2929.
After you've enrolled in Mobile Money, visit the App Store for your device and search for Premier Federal Credit Union to download and install our new app.

Fraud Alert: Certified Check Cashing Scam

We have received notice of a Certified Check Cashing Scam targeting our members. Some have reported receiving a letter referencing a recent Mystery Shop along with a fraudulent check. Members are being asked to cash the check and wire a portion to an overseas account. If you have received this letter, please call us immediately at 800-873-2929 or email us at email@example.com.
Premier FCU and the North Carolina Consumer's Council

In June of 2012, The North Carolina Consumer's Council (NCCC) became affiliated with Premier FCU to offer credit union loans and services to its members. The NCCC is a non-profit consumer advocacy group that has represented the consumers of North Carolina since 1968.
The membership fee is $18 for the first year with optional renewals afterwards for $10 per year. Members can join or renew for multiple years for discounted rates. Even if you do not renew your membership with the NCCC, you retain your membership with Premier FCU.

New Phishing Virus - Be Aware!

There is another version of Zeus on the loose. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) recently issued an alert on a new version of the Zeus Trojan called Gameover, which is distributed via spear phishing attacks aimed at commercial accounts and ultimately lead to account takeovers. Emails purporting to be from NACHA (The Electronic Payments Association) inform the victim organizations of a failed ACH transaction. The victim’s computer is infected with the Trojan when they click on the link contained in the email.

Premier Returns Profits to Membership

Greensboro, NC – On January 1, 2012, over 7,600 members of Premier Federal Credit Union received 5% of the interest paid in 2011 on eligible loans*. Each member’s portion of the more than $230,000 given back was deposited into their savings account. This is the second year in a row that Premier has given a 5% rebate.
